4 Signs You Need A New Mattress
Your mattress is where you spend hours each day, which is why you should be sleeping on a high-quality bed. That is why it is essential to know when to say goodbye to your current mattress and order a new one.
Sign #1: Sagging
When you look at your mattress, you should look at what the surface of your bed looks like. If you are looking at the top of your mattress, it should be even all the way across it. If it is sagging, then it is time to change it out. Sagging often occurs in the middle of the mattress, where a lot of body pressure is placed. Sagging can often happen on the edges of the bed as well.
Even a slight sagging of an inch or more can impact your spine when you sleep and stop you from getting quality sleep.
Sign #2: Noises
When you are sleeping or being intimate on your mattress, it shouldn't make noise. You shouldn't hear squeaking every time you roll over in the middle of the night. If your bed is making noise, that means that the springs inside of it are breaking down and are not providing you with the support and comfort that you need to get a good night's sleep.
Sign #3: Morning Sniffles
If you wake up every morning and you always have sniffles when you wake up, the cause could be your mattress. Your mattress can collect a strong amount of dust mites, dander, and even mold and mildew. Many materials absorb this type of material. That build-up can lead to your allergies flaring up every morning because you basically just spent hours hanging out around things that will trigger your allergies.
Sign #4: Trouble Sleeping
Next, when you lie down, you should be able to get a good night's sleep. If you find that you are not sleeping well, tossing and turning, struggling to find the right position, and waking up feeling like you are not rested, it is time to get rid of your mattress. A mattress that doesn't provide you with the proper support will not allow you to get a good night's sleep.
If your mattress is sagging and making noise, and you are waking up with sniffles and not feeling well-rested, it is time to replace your mattress. It is a good idea to replace your mattress around every seven to ten years or whenever it is not providing you with a good night's sleep.
